Rotaract in District 6000

District 6000 is extending its service by sponsoring Rotaract clubs. People ages 18 to 30 are actively participating in Rotaract across our district.

Rotaract clubs are commonly associated with colleges and universities. District 6000 boasts of clubs at the University of Iowa, Iowa State and Drake. Clubs also exist at Des Moines Area Community College - Boone Campus. The Quad Cities also has a Rotaract Club which is not associated with a specific school. Instead, it is made up of energetic young professionals serving the Quad City area in both Iowa and Illinois.

Rotaract offers a unique partnership for local Rotary groups. Here are examples of some of the recent projects Rotaract has provided for their communities:

- Holiday Toys for Tots for children of low income college students
- Library books both in Mexico and Venezuela
- Pennies for polio
- A school food pantry
- College scholarships

Many Rotaract clubs team up with their sponsoring Rotary clubs for community outreach. This has included everything from major club money making projects, local parades, social outings, and specific service projects.

Rotaract students are learning service. Sponsoring Rotary members are meeting enthusiastic young adults who love Rotary. Encourage your club to team up with a Rotaract club.

Your club service will take on new meaning and new energy.
