Objective: To inform clubs about involvement in Rotary Fellowships that share common interests in worthwhile recreational activities, to explore new opportunities for service, to make friends around the world and have fun.
Rotary Fellowships - The Hidden Gem of Rotary!
Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends worldwide, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience.
Fellowships consist of members who share a common interest in recreational activities (4x4 vehicles or RVs), sports (PickleBall, Scuba, Golf, or Skiing), hobbies (Quilting, Collectors of Dolls, Stamps, or Rare Books), or professions (Exec Managers, Graphic Designers, Lawyers, Editors or Entrepreneurs). And there are the ever-popular Rum, Whiskey, Gin, Wine, and Beer fellowships!
These groups help expand skills, foster vocational development and enhance your Rotary experience by exploring interests while developing connections worldwide. They also help advance Rotary’s public image and identity. There are over 40,000 Rotarians who belong to a Rotary fellowship from across 150 countries.
Fellowships function independently of Rotary International by establishing their own rules, dues requirements, and administrative structure. Membership in a fellowship is open to any interested individual. It’s a great way to introduce someone to Rotary via an activity you know they are passionate about.
There are over 103 Fellowships listed on the Rotary website today. You can contact a fellowship directly by using the links on the site. www.rotary.org/fellowships
I am currently the President of The International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians (ISFR). We have over 500 members all across the world. I believe fellowships are a hidden gem of Rotary. I love to spread the word about the opportunities that they provide. As your District Fellowship Chair, I have developed a club presentation on Rotary Fellowships and would be happy to present it to your club.
