This Fund was formerly called the Permanent Fund, and was established to provide a predictable and secure supplement to the Annual Fund of The Rotary Foundation, thereby guaranteeing programs in the future.  Contributions to this Fund are not spent, rather they are invested and only a portion of the earnings generated is used to support The Rotary Foundation programs.

The initial target of US$200 million for the Fund was surpassed six years ahead of schedule. Our next target is US$1 billion by 2025.  The dramatic growth has helped increase program support more than six-fold since 1994-1995.

Rotarians have the opportunity to provide gifts through their estate plans or gifts of immediate monetary value.  Rotarians giving future gifts of at least $1,000 up to $9,999.00 will be recognized as Benefactors.

Rotarians giving future gifts of $10,000 or more will be recognized as members of The Rotary Foundation Bequest Society.

Rotarians that contribute $10,000 of immediate monetary value are recognized as Major Donors.
